On 25 October 2025, Mapawa hosted Ultra Trail Mapawa 2025 in Sitio Mapawa, Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City, with ITRA-certified routes reaching as long as 50 km–proving that the terrain can stage a serious, top-tier trail race with proper timing and results infrastructure.
