With the historic Saint Augustine Church as a backdrop, Paoay Plaza offers the perfect venue for scenic race starts. Adjacent open spaces can accommodate team buses, media pens, hydration and medical tents, and spectators, while surrounding approach roads create straightforward access for vehicles and foot traffic.
In 2025, Stage 1 of the MPTC Tour of Luzon rolled out from Paoay Plaza for a 190+ km loop, and Stage 2 sent riders on a team time trial route to Vigan. This back-to-back starts put the plaza at the heart of race operations and fan festivities.
