Located inside the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex, Liwasang Ulalim offers a wide hardscape for assembly pens, hydration and medical tents, and a natural amphitheater feel for finish-line ceremonies. It provides visitors easy access to buses and trains.

In 2025, the 43rd Manila International Marathon started and finished at the plaza, drawing runners for the 42 km, 21 km, 10 km, 5 km, and 3 km races.
